On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, October 23, under the acclamation of several hundred people, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe proceeded, to the inspection of construction work of the Delmas interchange, commonly known viaduct of Delmas https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12034-haiti-reconstruction-president-martelly-visited-the-flyover-under-construction-in-delmas.html

It was also an opportunity for the Head of Government, to meet with the citizens present at the occasion. He was pleased to note that these works, which are a first in our history, are making great strides. This 8-ways interchange will open up areas bordering Delmas Airport and Nazon and most importantly, to mitigate the traffic problems. The opening of this major road infrastructure, is scheduled for late March 2015.

Furthermore, the Government has already started the construction of a second interchange, to serve the population of Carrefour and users of the National #2, a work that is scheduled to open in September 2015 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8288-haiti-reconstruction-two-major-elevated-highway-interchange-in-delmas-and-carrefour.html

Recall that the cost of these two works, which amounts to a little more than 30 million USD, is funded by the Petrocaribe funds [16.5 million for Delmas, 13.6 million for Carrefour]. It is the Dominican construction company Estrella, that ensures the construction of these two road infrastructure under the supervision of the firm LGL SA. The prime contractor is provided by the Directorate of Public Works.
