Haiti - Politic : Investiture of members of the Presidential Consultative Commission
Monday at the National Palace, the President Michel Martelly, in the presence of Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, the President of the Court of Cassation, Me Anel Alexis Joseph, the Senate Vice President Andris Riché and members of the Government, proceeded to the investiture of the 11 members forming the Consultative Commission, who must work on the synthesis of political consultations carried out from 22 September to 24 November 2014 between the Head of State and different sectors of Haitian society.

The President Martelly first thanked all personalities encountered in the framework of consultations "that have not bargained their reflections and proposals for the welfare of the Nation," before greeting the members of the Commission who have, according to him made their contribution to the building of democracy in Haiti "The Nation is already grateful to you through the respect and admiration it put on each of you. Beyond the contradictions, the common objective remains the holding of elections in 2015."

Member of the Commission :
Mr. Gérard Gourgue, Mgr. Patrick Aris, Mr. Evans Paul, Pasteur Chavanne Jeune, Mr. Paul Loulou Chery, Mrs. Odette Roy Fombrun, Mr. Gabriel Fortuné, Mr. Réginald Boulos, Mr. Rony Mondestin, Mr. Charles Suffrard, Mgr. Ogé Beauvoir.

Evans Paul, leader of the "Konvansyon Inite Demokratik", believes that the decision of the President reflects his desire to solve problems through political consensus. He called political actors to deploy a patriotic effort to ensure that elections can be held in 2015 emphasizing that no country can develop in a climate of instability but in social peace. In addition, he promised that the Commission will fully assume its responsibilities and will manage to make recommendations, which will find the support of all stakeholders.

Mgr Patrick Aris, Spokesman of the Mediation Committee of the Agreement El Rancho, has also promised to work in order to promote an out of the crisis that would allow the country to breathe, especially during the end of year celebrations. Mgr Aris promised that the recommendations will take into account both the synthesis of consultations conducted by the presidecy that the Haitian reality.

For its part, the opposition trivializes the Commission which only aims to make the time pass. For Serge Jean Louis of the MOPOD "This Commission is a joke, made up of people, most of whom are close to the government and schemers..."
