Haiti - Petit Goâve : Release of 3 students in violence

Thursday morning, the police of Petit-Goâve led to the prosecution of the city, students arrested Wednesday during a demonstration organized by the opposition https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12650-haiti-politic-demonstration-violence-and-arrests-of-students-in-petit-goave.html

But at the prosecution, there was no Commissioner to hear the detainees... Meanwhile, thousands of students coming from other schools of the town, reinforced by opposition members of the Joint Front for the Liberation (FML) and the Bloc of Democratic Opposition (BOD) [affiliated to MOPOD] demonstrated outside the prosecution in sign of solidarity to their comrades and to demand their release.

Finally, under pressure from the young, the police released three of students arrested what was not enough to calm the anger of the protesters who threw stones against the police.

Roubens Joachim, the Commander of the Departmental Unit for Maintaining Order (UDMO) while giving instructions under the stone throwing was struck by a vehicle of UDMO. Wounded in the leg, he was evacuated by the soldiers of the Minustah to receive appropriate care.

In addition, members of the opposition rejected in advance, based on rumors, circulating, the possible municipal cartel of the city. According to rumors the new communal Commission could be composed of : Fenix Vilceron, Maxon Paul and Mrs. Dortoy C. Duroseau.
