Haiti - Economy : Changes at the head of Digicel
Wednedsay, Digicel Haiti CEO, Maarten Boute, has been promoted to the role of Chairman for Digicel Haiti with immediate effect.

Maarten has been with Digicel Haiti since 2009 when he held the CEO role for a three-year period. From April 2012, Maarten fulfilled a consultative role, where he focused on Digicel Haiti’s new revenue streams and value added services such as its Mobile Financial Services business and its investment in Boom Financial and the Marriott Hotel. Maarten then came back to the CEO role in April 2014.

As Chairman, Maarten will continue to bring his strong leadership skills to all Digicel operations in Haiti. Maarten will oversee the strategy of the business with a particular focus on taking responsibility for and managing all of Digicel Haiti’s external affairs (media, institutional relations, regulatory affairs). He will also represent Digicel in the Marriott Hotel and NuTV https://www.haitilibre.com/en/search.php?q=NuTV&d=1 projects as well as having oversight for the Digicel Foundation and the Iron Market.

Also, Digicel Haiti welcomes Carlos Caceres as CEO of Digicel Haiti. Carlos was previously Commercial Director for the Caribbean and Central America for Digicel Group and has been with Digicel Group since April 2014. Prior to joining Digicel, Carlos held senior roles with 3M and Millicom.

In welcoming both individuals to their new roles, Digicel Group Chief Executive, Colm Delves, said "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate both Maarten and Carlos on their new roles. It’s great to have such strong leadership at the helm of our Haiti business and I would like to wish them both all the best as they take our business there to the next stage."
