Haiti - NOTICE : Mobile Number Portability postponed

"Jean Marie Guillaume, Director General of the National Council of Telecommunications (CONATEL) presents its best wishes for the New Year and take this opportunity to inform you that the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service, which allows the subscriber to keep their telephone number by changing operator, initially scheduled for earlier this year, is postponed to November 1, 2015.

Indeed, following the delays by the suppliers of operators for the delivery of some equipment that should be delivered to Port-au-Prince in May 2015, and considering the installation time of the platform, and the implementation of technical and administrative procedures thereto, CONATEL, together with NATCOM and DIGICEL operators had to extend the commissioning of Mobile Number Portability on the date mentioned above.
