For Sauveur Étienne "President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Evans Paul are faced with an Cornelian drama : to defend their partisan interests or those of the community [...] they must choose between work for the impossible survival of a dying system and the emergence of a new system called to out Haiti of the underdevelopment." Regarding the number of foreign interventions in the Haitian crisis, OPL invites politicians to recover, stating that "[...] the time has come to see our inability, our irresponsibility and our political infantilism and pull ourselves together to hoist us up to the crucial requirements of the hour."
