Haiti - Elections: The electoral timetable continues to divide the opposition
Since the publication of the electoral decree https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13316-haiti-elections-prime-minister-paul-handed-the-electoral-decree-to-the-cep.html and the transmission of calendar of upcoming elections to the executive, several political parties of the opposition parties continue to express their disagreements.

On Friday, the Department coordination of West of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL) denounced the decision of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of having transmitted on Thursday, the electoral timetable to the Executive https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13370-haiti-flash-electoral-timetable-official-version-final.html without taking into account the suggestions made Wednesday by political parties https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13365-haiti-elections-important-dates-of-the-electoral-timetable.html

That same day, Maryse Narcisse, Coordinator of Fanmi Lavalas Executive Committee rejected the electoral timetable proposal, saying it is not adapted to reality. While stating that the organization Fanmi Lavalas is ready to go to elections, she asked the population to require the amendment the electoral timetable, that she described as an ""Electoral coup in gestation".

Charles Henry Baker, President of "Respè" Party denounced the arbitrary decision of the CEP considering that there nothing serious in this approach he described as partisan maneuvering. He said to be pessimistic and expressed serious reservations about holding fair elections with Pierre Louis Opont at the head of the CEP.

Marie Frantz Joachim, Coordinator of the organization "Solidarite Fanm Ayisyen" (SOFA) for her part denounced the choice of many members of the Departmental Electoral Offices (BED) and of Communal Electoral Offices (BEC), which according to her would be candidates deemed close to the government, which would have been appointed by fraud. She asked the CEP to review the selection of challenged members of the BED and of BEC. Furthermore she requires the application of the 30% quota for women in the electoral machine.
