Ndaba Mandela, grand-son of the popular late President black South African, Nelson Mandela, ended past weekend

a discrete 5-day tourist visit to Haiti, during which he was able to visit some regions including the city of Cap-Haitien.

"I am delighted to have finally been able to visit this beautiful country. What say the international media about Haiti, is far from the truth. Haiti has enormous potential," said Ndaba Mandela at a joint press conference of the Ministry of Tourism, before his departure on Saturday at the diplomatic lounge of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince.

He called for a unification of relations between Haiti, the first independent black republic in the world and the African countries of the same strain "We need to diversify the Haitian-African relations, because Haiti is the expression of Africa in the Caribbean."

In conclusion, Ndaba Mandela congratulated President Martelly for his efforts to put Haiti on the world map of tourism and its initiatives to help children attend school thanks to the free and compulsory education program.

For her part, Emilie Jessy Menos, the Secretary of State for Tourism, welcomed the passage in the country of Ndaba Mandela. "Your visit to Haiti brings a double pride in one hand to your descent through the President Mandela for whom we have great respect and also to promote our destination."

Also note that the Haitian government plans to organize a memorial service in Haiti to President Nelson Mandela passed away a year ago in South Africa. This commemoration in honor of "Madiba" will be the first of its kind to be held in the Caribbean.
