"We are very delighted to have the World Bank Group co-host with us on this year’s expo," said Firmin Backer, President of HRA Expo. "The HRA Expo is an opportunity for the Caribbean Diaspora to promote investment and entrepreneurship initiatives in their region." Over 3,000 participants from 12 countries have attended the HRA Expo since its launch in 2010. Over the last six years, the conference has emerged as a leading platform for investors, entrepreneurs, start-ups, diaspora groups, government officials, and NGOs to partner, share best practices, and discuss ideas to advance sustainable development in the Caribbean. Amongst the highlights of this year’s program, HRA’s signature Investor's Tank – which is inspired by the hit TV show "Shark's Tank" –will take place on June 26. To date, 16 businesses have pitched in the tank with three receiving up to $500,000 each in financial support. In addition to the World Bank Group, principal partners include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, USAID, Pan American Development Foundation and the U.S. Commerce Department’s Minority Business Development Agency, as well as many Caribbean Embassies and Investment Facilitation Agencies.
