Haiti - FLASH : D-3, already more than 31,275 voluntary returns
Thursday, Major General Rubén Darío Paulino Sem, Director General of Migration (DGM) recalled that Monday, July 6 is the end of the period of the Plan for the voluntary return of all foreigners in irregular migratory situation in the Dominican Republic, which are not registered in the National Plan of Regularization of Foreigners. However he pointed out that this did not mean that after that period, the repatriation process of illegal aliens will start.

He said that the authorities will evaluate from next Monday, the way to follow regarding the end of the period of voluntary departure "it is the President Danilo Medina, who will have to take the decision to extend the period granted for 15 days or if he applies the content of the statement published on June 18"(which provides for the beginning of the repatriation).

he Director of Immigration, also revealed that as of Wednesday, July 1 31.275 illegal Haitian nationals (15.777 men, 8.371 women and 7.127 children) decided to voluntarily leave the Dominican territory (an average of nearly 2,000 daily return from June 18).

Recall that in the framework of a voluntary return, all foreigners (regardless of nationality) are exempt from the sanctions in accordance with Regulation 285-04 of the law governing the institution. This means that eventually, they can return to the Dominican Republic without hindrance, provided they meet the requirements of Dominican migration law.
