The Dominican Deputy Vinicio Castillo Semán, of the National Progressive Force (FNP), [ultra-nationalist right] asked President Danilo Medina to withdraw the Dominican diplomatic staff accredited in Haiti, before the fear of protests in Haiti against the Dominican Republic because of its immigration policy.

"Haiti has declared diplomatic war against the Dominican Republic. Danilo should withdraw diplomatic staff in Haiti. Where they will be at risk in the coming weeks," wrote the parliamentarian on his Twitter account. Ensuring that the Government of Haiti "will radicalize its offensive against the Dominican Republic, manipulating its population to achieve an explosion of anger against the Dominicans."
