Haiti - Education : Still no agreement to avoid the union action on September 7

Thursday Nesmy Manigat, the Minister of National Education https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15029-haiti-education-back-to-school-threatened-by-unions.html met including the National Union of Haitians Normaliens (UNNOH) to try to find a compromise and to ensure that the school year is done without incident.

Recall that the UNNOH, which launched a call to action for Monday, September 7, 2015, requires, inter alia : the full payment of salary arrears, the monitoring of cases of teachers with a letter of appointment and health insurance card for all teachers and a special bonus for fight against high prices.

For Josué Mérilien, the Coordinator of the UNNOH, the responses of the Minister were vague and ambiguous facing the main demands of teachers' unions. Note that the meeting failed to reach an agreement, the Minister having had to shorten the meeting to intervene on the Council of Ministers on the new school year.

The Coordinator of UNNOH given up this weekend, so that the Ministry provides concrete solutions to the demands of teacher unions, saying that otherwise, the call for mobilization launched for the first day of school school will be maintained with all the consequences that will result.
