hundreds of people marched peacefully to the call of the coordination of candidates for the democratic struggle, on the streets of Port-au-Prince. The protesters still demanding the cancellation of the first round of elections on 9 August and the resignation of the president of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) Pierre Louis Opont. They claim that if their demands are not met this weekend, events will resume this week.

Clarens Renois an open candidate...
Clarens Renois, candidate for president of party UNIR, which obtained the support of the Protestant trend by becoming its sole candidate https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15043-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html , believes that his nomination as a candidate of the sector is a heavy responsibility. He said that being the candidate of the Protestant sector brings him a moral and not financial support. He also extends a hand to his unfortunate competitors and is committed to govern with other candidates from this sector in order to create stability in the country. He said also to be open to all other sectors willing to work to build a better country.

Paul Denis describes the vote of August 9 as an electoral coup
Paul Denis, Special Advisor to the party INITE, requests corrections regarding the first round of elections on 9 August, describing the elections of fraudulent elections, assimilating it to an electoral coup attempted by parties close of the government. He said to be outraged of the manifest will of the executive members of violating the sovereignty of the people and appealed for unity among political parties of the democratic opposition, to prevent the government from carrying out its plan.

Charles Henry Baker accuses
Charles Henry Baker, President of Respè party accuses officials of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) and the Government of being responsible for the electoral defeat. He recommends the establishment of an independent Commission of evaluation before the organization of a possible second round on 25 October. Moreover, he adds that candidates from his party have formulated electoral challenges to the electoral courts of first instance. He also claims that the refusal of the government and electoral authorities to form a commission to find a solution to the crisis could plunge the country into a crisis, that protests could break out to demand in addition of the resignation of electoral advisers, also the departure of the Premier Minister and Head of State.
