Haiti - FLASH : The Commission of electoral evaluation installed with changes
Yesterday evening at the hotel Kinam in Petionville, Prime Minister Evans Paul proceeded to the installation of the Independent Commission of Electoral Evaluation, Evaluationcomposed of the following five personality : Mgr Patrick Aris, the Pastor Armand Louis, the Mambo Euvonie Georges Auguste, Me Gédéon Jean and Rosny Desroches.

"We are in a political-electoral impasse. The new decree constitutes once again an effort of overcoming and of living together. It is with a spirit of disinterest that Manno Charlemagne (Joseph Emmanuel Charlemagne) and Konpè Filo (Anthony Pascal) withdrew from the Commission [they were replaced by Me Gédéon Jean (representing the human rights sector) and the Pastor Louis Armand (representing the Protestant Church)]

The Government guarantees all the independence to this commission and initiatives aimed at bring out the truth. We all have a responsibility to preserve the image of Haiti. A country is built in peace, the agreement between the rival forces. We are united by a common destiny : the stability," declared the Prime Minister, recalling that "The executive has not formed a Commission. He has acted on the recommendations of the stakeholders. What is important is to create political stability. February 7 is an important date. So it is important to have a new elected president," concluding by stating "This is an independent commission which is free to give terms of reference."

The Commission will have to provide recommendations to the executive and the CEP in a short time; ie on 30 December [or 8 continuous days instead of 3 before]. In a new presidential decree published on 22 December, which automatically reports the one taken on December 16 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16089-haiti-flash-president-martelly-announced-the-creation-of-a-commission.html , it is indicated that this Commission will benefit from the assistance of national and international experts; that the Independent Commission of Electoral Evaluation is the result of an understanding reached between the two candidates qualified for the second round, Jude Célestin and Jovenel Moïse.
