Haiti - Education : 263 Schools excluded for fraud in the West (List)
Following the publication in December 2015, of the first report of an internal audit of 3,000 schools located in the West, part of the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO), the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) decided to exclude 263 schools of the Programme with at least 50% of additional unjustified students.

This decision takes effect from the publication of this note. The heads of the schools concerned are invited to contact the legal department of MENFP for useful suites. In parallel the General Inspectorate of the Ministry continue to analyze the situation of each school in the said report in order to adopt the appropriate measures. The Ministry renews its determination to fulfill its commitments under the PSUGO and its actions in order to reframing the Program.

In addition, the ministry announces the release this week of about 200 million gourdes by the State to continue the payment process of public school agents and principals of private schools, in good standing MENFP. This brings to about 6.4 billion gourdes the amount of money invested by the State in the PSUGO since its launch in November 2011.

In accordance with commitments made by the Government to work towards greater transparency in the management of universal education program, free and compulsory (PSUGO), the Ministry of National Education makes available to the public a set of key data on private schools involved in the program from 2011 to 2014 :
