In accordance with measures adopted by the Ministry of National Education https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11781-haiti-education-exam-results-disappointing-the-minister-manigat-announced-a-package-of-measures.html which advocates the elimination of the exam of the 6th fundamental year (AF) and the introduction of an evaluation in class of 4th AF, over 23,000 students from a representative sample of the different categories of schools in 10 departments (public, congregational, rural, priestly, missionary, community, communal, secular, Episcopal, Protestant and private), will undergo during 60 minutes an evaluation test (mathematics, French and Creole) on 24 May.

Jean Pierre Wilnor, Director of Fundamental Education (DEF), recalled that this is not a passing exam in 5th AF (which must always occur), but only an evaluation to allow the Ministry to assess the knowledge acquired among children and measure the degree of achievement of objectives and the shortcomings of the study cyclefrom 1st to 4th AF compared with actions taken by the Ministry through its curriculum.
