Haiti - Elections : D-9, the Commission has already checked 80% of Minutes
Thursday, Michel Eric Gaillard, statistician, member of the Evaluation Commission and Electoral Verification (CIEV) confirmed that nearly 80% of 3,235 Minutes (PV) randomly selected our of the 12,939 PV available at CTV have already been analyzed and verified. Cutting short of possible rumors, he stressed that no observer can obtain estimates and information on the results found in this phase.
He specified that the operators (80) are working in two shifts day and night. The analysis and verification made by a team are checked by the other team, which validates or invalidates the soundness of the results.
According to the Commission President, François Benoit, the CIEV has all necessary means to carry out its mission and he anticipates compliance with the deadline of 30 days of the mandate with the delivery of its report on 29 May. Moreover, François Benoit has insisted that the Commission is not subject to any national and international political influence and that he will not be intimidated in any way.
