Tuesday, following a lawsuit filed by former Prime Minister Evans Paul and several former members of the Martelly administration, against the Government Commissioner Me Jean Danton Léger or having taken departure bans against 2 former Prime Minister and 12 former Minister of Government Martelly-Paul https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17605-haiti-flash-new-wave-of-bans-to-leave-the-territory.html , which have subsequently been lifted https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-17613-haiti-flash-note-of-protest-against-the-political-persecution-gives-results.html , the lawyers of Me Léger were present at the Court of First Instance to respond to a citation in correctional, however the principal concerned was not present...
However, the case could not be heard because the plaintiffs' lawyers walked out due to insecurity, according to the reason reported by Me Newton Louis Saint-Juste, one of the lawyers of Me Danton, which qualifies this withdraw of pretext, saying the plaintiffs' folder is empty and they know very well that they have no chance of winning.
Me Newton is convinced that this is an attempt to push his client to resign, in order to bury the investigation of the use of PetroCaribe funds, saying that Me Jean Danton Léger will not resign.
