Haiti - Epidemic : UN collected 20.06% of emergency aid to fight against the cholera ! 01/12/2010 15:57:15
The United Nations (UN) has appealed for emergency funds near its member countries, amounting to 164 million dollars to fight against the cholera epidemic rampant in Haiti. Until now the response is insufficient to effectively fight against the epidemic. On the 164 million requested by the UN and its partners, to fight against the disease, $32.9 million (20.06%) have been collected to date. There are currently in the country, 40 cholera treatment centers, averaging between 100 and 200 beds each, and 61 processing units, with an average of 20 beds each.
