Haiti - Security : Advanced Training for PNH

The final component of the training sessions organized by the internal security service of the Embassy of France in Haiti, in favor of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), was dedicated to the fight against money laundering and seizure of assets criminals in connection with drug trafficking.

This training was provided to the Central Directorate of the Haitian Judiciary Police (DCPJ) by Police Captain Sylvie Flamand, of the Training Centre Interministerial Anti-Drug (CIFAD) of Martinique for the benefit of members of the Central Unit Information Financiers (UCREF), of the nit for the Fight against Corruption (ULCC) as well as investigators from the Office of Finance and Economic Affairs of the DCPJ.

During this training, the captain Flamand ddressed issues such as legal and legislative aspects of money laundering, the investigation of heritage and its practical aspects, procedures for seizure and confiscation oreven the Haitian legislation in this field, including the law of November 2013 on the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing.

This theme was responding to a priority of the former Director General of the PNH, Godson Orelus, who had repeatedly insisted on the fact that the law enforcement had to intensify their operations against the networks involved in narcotic trafficking, money laundering and transnational crimes.
