Haiti - FLASH : The laws on money laundering and UCREF, passed in the Senate 29/09/2016 10:13:29
The de facto President Privert, must now convene the deputies (on vacation) to the extraordinary, to vote the Law on UCREF and especially have the quorum which may be complicated because many deputies do not recognize its constitutional legitimacy. An important first step, but still insufficient to prevent Haiti's financial isolation. Consequently Ronald Larèche, Senate President, invited the Executive (as provided in such circumstances) to publish the budget as originally introduced in the House of Deputies. For Ronald Larèche, Senate President, this session is a step in the right direction and calls on the Executive to make the filing of the Penal Code revision project for the Senators could examine it and decide.
