After three 3 days of bad weather accompanied by heavy rain in some places, violent and devastating winds, cyclonic swells, big waves, and floods breaking everything in their way, "the provisional report of casualties listed at 6 October rose to 122 dead, 2 missing and 91 injured," just informed he Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT).

The hurricane Matthew, left behind him more than 115,000 affected families, 25,160 houses severely damaged, nearly 500 houses destroyed and 178 schools damaged, while 61.102 people have been evacuated and most assisted directly by the authorities during the hurricane.
