Haiti - Elections : First words of Jovenel Moïse and first reactions
Following the announcement of the victory to the presidential election in the first round, of Jovenel Moïse under the banner of the PHTK, the first reactions began to arrive.

Remember that the results communicated on Monday evening by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19370-haiti-flash-preliminary-results-1st-round-elections-20-november-2016.html are preliminary results and that all candidates can file objections in the Departmental Electoral Litigation Offices (BCED) and Nationals (BCEN). The final result of the presidential election will be published by the CEP on December 29, 2016.

First words of Jovenel Moïse :
"The Haitian people made its choice and elected me in the first round. Now, in a spirit of gathering, I invite you, dear compatriots, to borrow with me the road of endogenous development for a Haiti to the height of its historical performances and its legitimate ambitions [...]

My brothers and sisters, it is together that we will change Haiti, it is together that we must work to allow every Haitian to live better [...]

I appeal to the youth of the country, to all the Haitians who live abroad, to all the professionals of the country, to engage at my side to put the country upright, because Haiti is on its knees [...]

Tonight, I have a special thought for each of my competitors, every citizen who was a candidate because they have a project for Haiti."

Former Prime Minister Laurent Lamoth :
« I congratulate the President-elect, Jovenel Moïse, for this courageous victory at the polls that symbolizes the triumph of the popular will. Hasta la VICTORIA SIEMPRE."

Deputy Gary Bodeau :
"I congratulate the elected President, Jovenel Moïse. I advise him to work with all sectors of national life," declared deputy ary Bodeau, adding," It is not only the presidential election, we must remain vigilant for the legislative elections."

Former Prime Minister Evans Paul :
"I say congratulations to the government and to the CEP who finally composed with the truth instead of decomposing into the lie."

The former President Michel Martelly :
"[...] The response that the population has given is a response that simply means that it understands his message (of Jovenel) that it understands the project that he has for Haiti and that it believes in him.

[...] I want to congratulate the people and thank it, because there are a lot of people who embarked and who at first did not believe in him [...] So, Jovenel hats off, it's a beautiful thing. I could not have picked a better person than him. We are proud of you.

[...] The population thanks for having chosen a person who has a good program a project for Haiti and who has never attacked a person. That shows his political maturity, we did not win with the tires burning and the windshield breaking, we won with our silence, our beliefs, all our convictions and our electoral card.

Hats off for teh population.

[...] Jovenel I congratulate you but do not forget that the work now will start, the victory is when you will leave in 5 years, and say that you are satisfied with what you have done. The country is behind you, everyone is behind you, I says you success [...]»
