On Tuesday, residents reported tensions at Delmas 60, where individuals threw stones and erected barricades of burning tires. The police had to intervene with tear gas in the district of La Saline (stronghold of Fanmi Lavalas) to regain control of the situation and disperse the protesters.

Jr., the Minister of Justice and Public Security, deeply concerned by the rise in the violence of the past 48 hours in the capital but also in Jacmel, wrote to the Government Commissioner Danton Léger (Port-au-Prince) and to the Commissioner of the Government Françoise Morailles (Jacmel) to ask them to apply law in all its rigor against the troublemakers.
