Haiti - FLASH : Trial of Guy Philippe in the United States

Monday, during a brief appearance a federal judge set the date of the trial of elected Senator Guy Philippe to April 3.

He pleaded not guilty https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19796-haiti-flash-guy-philippe-pleads-not-guilty.html to drug smuggling charges, money laundering and conspiracy https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19731-haiti-flash-guy-philippe-the-charges-are-known-appearing-on-january-13-2017.html that carry a maximum life prison sentence.
Moreover, in Haiti, a certificate of Registry of the Procurator's Office of the Civil Court of Port-au-Prince dated January 11, 2017 confirms that there was no warrant to bring against Senator Guy Philippe at the time of his arrest.
