Haiti - Politic : The Minister of Defense in Washington DC

As part of the CARICOM Ambassadors' Caucus Retreat, whose Haiti holds the rotating presidency on 1 January, Ambassador Hervé Denis, Minister of Defense of Haiti was invited on Monday to make a presentation at the Embassy of Haiti in Washington DC.
The Minister briefly touched on, among others, the following topics:
- The change caravan and the military engineering corps involved in developmental tasks under this program https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23027-haiti-fadh-first-project-entrusted-to-the-military.html ;
- The remobilization of the Haitian Armed Forces, which will have priority relief mission to the population in case of major natural hazards https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23236-haiti-military-floods-in-port-de-paix-the-engineering-corps-in-action.html border surveillance and the fight against smuggling ;
- The implementation of the second phase of the Haiti White Paper on Security and National Defense (produced in 2015).
He said he counted on the collaboration of the countries of the region and invited them to work with Haiti to achieve the objectives common to the region.
Recall that Minister Denis will be received this Wednesday, January 24, 2018 by the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) to present the White Paper on security and national defense of Haiti
