The Hugo Chavez International Airport of Cap-Haitien will inaugurate its new arrival hall very soon confirmed Edouane Pierre the General Coordinator of the Cap-Haïtien International Airport. With an area of 1,100 square meters, this infrastructure includes a room reserved for immigration, another at the customs, a toilet block and space to house the National Council of Telecommunication (CONATEL) and the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the Coordinator, this new arrival hall will receive passengers for domestic and international flights and will increase the capacity of the airport including the presence of two major carriers American Air Lines (2014) and Spirit Spirit Airlines ( 2018) whose inaugural flight took place last April https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24088-haiti-cap-haitien-direct-inaugural-flight-of-spirit-airlines.html

At the same time, technicians are working on the tarmac to repair surface cracks in runway sections damaged by the infiltration of water into the foundation layers of the roadway. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24215-haiti-news-zapping.html Of the 913 m2 concerned 211 m2 or 23% are already repaired, said the engineer Noël Rodler who said that the surface cracks can prevent the normal operation of airline operations.
