The Commissioner Frantz Lerbours, spokesman for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) presented a review of police operations for the month of February 2011. The situation has not improved, despite the success of the PNH, the population still lives in insecurity.

• 1.571 people were arrested for various offenses

• 60 people arrested for killing whose 20 by firearms and 23 by stabbing

• 29 arrests for rape

• 18 kidnappings and 11 arrests

• 27 prison escapees were captured

The Spokesman of the PNH is inviting the public to not be alarmed... "the PNH intends to give the appropriate responses to the bandits..." he specified. On the other hand, Frantz Lerebours, said that the police was more frequently the target of the bandits, stressing that since February 25, 4 aggression against the police were reported and a policeman was killed last week after being kidnapped.
