During consultations at the National Palace, which continued during the 3 weeks following the resignation of Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24957-haiti-flash-resignation-of-the-prime-minister-lafontant.html , the Head of State in search of consensus, met with politicians, personalities and organized groups of Civil Society, around the profile of the next Prime Minister and the formation of the new Government.

According to a source close to the Presidency, the consultations are now over, a short list of names has been established and checks are currently under way to ensure that each candidate meets the criteria of the Constitution, believing that the Head of the State could announce at the beginning of the week the name of the Prime Minister.

However, Guichard Doré, the Special Adviser to the Head of State, did not want to confirm a date, other than to assert that it is "soon", recalling that President Moïse must again consult the Presidents of both Houses of Parliament before the announcement.
