Haiti - Education : Results of 4th AF poor according to a preliminary assessment
On Wednesday, was held the presentation of the first results of the 2017 national evaluation in 4th fundamental year, in the presence of Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, Minister of National Education, its Director General Meniol Jeune, officials of the Ministry and international partners having contributed to the realization of the evaluation.

The first elements revelead in the data analysis of the results of the assessment of prior learning for 4th AF students across the national territory, show a great weakness in mathematics, an average performance in Creole and French and better results in learnings made within non-public schools.

Note that for French and Creole, there were two domains of content (reading comprehension and grammar).

The two senior Ministry officials emphasized the need to continue teacher training, which they believe is one of the most important factors in improving the quality of education, while stressing that the results indicate that factors, such as children's economic and environmental conditions, also greatly affect their learning and success.

The analysis and data processing and supervision of the evaluation were carried out by experts from the International Agency for Evaluation (IEA) and IFOHSED and financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
