This morning, Haitian-Japanese Naomi Osaka (21, ranked 4th in the world) won the final of the Australian Open in Melbourne, against the Czech Petra Kvitová (28, 8th in the world), the first round of Grand Slam 2019.
She defeated her in three sets, 7-6 (7/2), 5-7, 6-4. The encounter lasted 2 hours and 27 minutes. Osaka will become Monday the twenty-seventh #1 worldwide and the first Haitian-Japanese, of the history to be #1.
