Haiti - Carnival PAP : 3rd Sunday of activities, the number of injured more than doubled

The Communal Administration of Port-au-Prince after thanking the DJs and revelersfor having responded in number to the 3rd Sunday of pre-carnival activities, took stock of this day where 54 injured people were recorded and treated in the various Advanced Medical Positions arranged on the course, including 10 with knives, 5 victims of beating and 39 other cases (against 24 injured on the 2nd Sunday https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26754-haiti-social-2nd-sunday-of-pre-carnival-activities-many-wounded.html ).

In addition, the Town Hall of Port-au-Prince sanctioned the DJ BMix for incorporating foreign music in its animation on the parade route and also sanctioned the DJ Tonymix for uttering unhealthy and irreverent remarks on the course. The two DJs each received a fine of 50,000 gourdes to pay before their next outing.

The Town Hall of Port-au-Prince takes the opportunity to recall that the carnival period is a period devoted to the promotion of local music, which is why it is strictly forbidden for DJs to use foreign songs on the course.

The Communal Administration of Port-au-Prince, while deploring any attempt of violence that is verbal or physical, reiterates its commitment to ensure the smooth running of pre-carnival activities.
