Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Striking teachers refuse dialogue !
At the end of the meeting held on Monday and Tuesday in Port-au-Prince between Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, the Minister of National Education and a delegation of teachers and students of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque in the presence of Senator Patrice Dumond, a Commission of 3 members was set up to enable the release of the situation with the understanding of all parties : payment of teachers' salaries in the best delay, processing of files of staff waiting for appointment respecting the criteria in the matter and the search for possible solutions for the payment of arrears, among others are the provisions envisaged to meet the demands of teachers and the resumption of school activities.

This Commission, which was to take office on Thursday, is composed of the coordinator of the School District Office of Léogâne, Hanacus, President and members Pierrevilus Elius, Director of the High School and Striker Teacher Wilson Lemène.

However, the installation of the Commission could not take place because of the opposition of the strikers who closed the main barrier of the Lycée, explaining that the priority of the hour was not a question of installing a Commission, but that it was a question of answering the teachers' demands : "pay, name and budget the strikers..." Finally, Pierrevilus and Hanacus left before the hostility of the teachers...
