Haiti - Politic : Michel Martelly made a clarification on the future Prime Minister 14/04/2011 11:10:26
"My government will be all inclusive, that you are Lavalas, Duvaliériste, Prévaliste, from left or right it does not bother me" declared Martelly, specifying that the important thing is that people share "our vision" that they are "honest, expert, efficient and that they prioritize the interests of the country [...] we do not prioritize ideology but competence, good will, people who wake up at any time to start working... [...] We are at a difficult crossroads, we need people who have energy" emphasized President Martelly. About the rumors that circulate around the future Prime Minister, Michel Martelly held to to make a clarification "There are many names that are mentioned in regard to who will be Prime Minister [...] but in the present context, this choice remains the choice of the President of the Republic. I have not worn my choice on a particular individual, I have different people in view, I do not think I'll name them, because we're at a stage of reflection [...] Everything that you hear in the street, that you read are only speculations, rumors. It is me which will make the choice and in the timely, you will know exactly who is this person. When I would have made my choice, I'll come with convincing and solid arguments, to explain the reasons for my choice" adding, in order to terminate another rumour, that this is not "for Mr Clinton to tell me who he want as Prime Minister..." Concerning the profile of the next Prime Minister, Martelly said that the "person who could be Prime Minister, will be someone who can understand what I promised to the people [...] I promised free education throughout the territory of Haiti and when I go [to the end of his term], I would like that all children go to school is my priority [...] another priority is to relocate people living under tents nd as the third priority is the revival of agriculture, so that the price declines and that we put most of our farmers at work." "I think that a Prime Minister, must understand why me, Michel Martelly I was elected, I was elected because I have sold a dream to the public. The role of the Prime Minister will be to arrive with its government to deliver the promises made by the President of the Republic [...] the people who elected me, expecting something, the Prime Minister must understand that I made promises and that it must deliver these promises to the people. Therefore, its profile will be that of someone powerful, that delivers results, which has energy, order, discipline and that works in a transparent manner."
