Haiti - Technology : Inauguration of the school of the future in Haiti
The Master Database and Systems Integration (MBDS), on the Faculty of Sciences (FDS) of the State University of Haiti (UEH), university course of the Francophone University Agency (AUF) inaugurated this April 13, 2011 its new building. Work of the Italian engineer, Marco Basettoni, this building was constructed in seismic prefab ccording to European standards and powered by renewable energy "half solar half wind", combines innovation and creativity.

With access to wireless broadband Internet, it also has a range of services "mobiquitaires" [1] around the mobile phone. These services will allow students access to classrooms, computers, books "tagged" of the library and information on the training program.

All these features make of this building, "the first building mobiquitaire of the Americas", suggested Professor Serge Miranda, President of the partner Foundation DreamIT and teacher at the University of Nice Antipolis.

"The construction of this new building is part of the implementation of the Project ECO-LE; an innovative project of building mobiquitaire at the service of higher education in Haiti. This building serves as a model home for a school of the future in Haiti", we can read in a note that was distributed to the guests.

Recall that MBDS is a Master of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, delocalized to the Faculty of Sciences of the State University of Haiti since 1998. Courses and seminars of the formation MBDS are taught by teachers from the Faculty of Sciences of the UEH, of the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and also by Haitian and foreign trained professionals who have succeeded in related fields.

Since 2000, the AUF supports this program as part of its support mechanism of the Francophone university courses located in some of its member institutions.

This support is reflected in practice by the teacher mobility (teaching assignments), the mobility of students (Master scholarships and scholarships for professional internships) and capacity building (laboratory equipment staffing).

[1] Mobiquité is a "word bag" between the MOBility of the mobile phone (now computer or smartphone) and the ubiquity (ubiQUITE in french) of the Internet (now 2.0, local and broadband in your pocket bearer of a space of creativity and innovation unlimited in terms of content and services.
