Cap-Haïtien : a money changer shot down

Saturday in Cap-Haïtien a Joseph Bergand changer was shot dead by several bullets at the corner of 12 L Street, by unidentified individuals riding motorcycles. He was rushed to hospital and died as a result of his injuries.

Grenadiers lose [1-0] to El Salvador

On Sunday, at the Robert F. Kennedy Stadium in Washington DC, our Grenadiers, face El Salvador in their first friendly preparation match for the 15th edition of the Gold Cup, conceded victory to Salvadorans on a David Rugumas goal scored at 66' [1-0]. On June 6th, the second pre-season match in Santiago de Chile against Alexis Sanchez's Selection and the last friendly against Guyana on June 11, before their first official match of the Gold Cup against Bermuda on June 16 at the National Stadium of Costa Rica. Automated Case Management System

The Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID - Haiti) as part of its program of strengthening the justice recently launched, the phase of extension and of appropriation of the Automated Case Management System (ICGAM). Levelt Milord, the representative of the Ministry of Justice applauded this innovation which he said will simplify the work of clerks and magistrates.

Closure of a major program

In partnership with the Office of the Protection of the Citizen of Haiti and Terre des hommes-Lausanne, the Minujusth closed last week a project that affected 12,736 beneficiaries, including 40 community leaders and associations, focused on the school reintegration of children family reunification, vocational training and the promotion of children's rights.

Recalling October 2017 and April 2019, more than 75,000 people, including 36,900 women, benefited from community violence reduction projects implemented by 68 partners (60 local, 6 international and 2 UN agencies) with support of the Mission.

Joris Mergelus arrested in Florida

Former Commander of the Narcotics Control Brigade (BLCS), Joris Mergelus was arrested last week in Florida. He had left Haiti without authorization and was the subject of a provisional measure of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) suspected of receiving bribes to hinder the investigation of the file of the boat Manzanarès aboard which several hundreds of kg of drugs had been discovered in April 2015. Dany Laferrière guest of honor of Livres en folie
