involving AGRITRANS SA.., the Board of Directors of AGRITRANS reacted strongly in a note to rectify several false information contained in this report, denounce the non respect of the international auditing standards and the lack of objectivity of the Superior Court of Accounts, while reserving the right to initiate proceedings before the Haitian justice to defend its integrity and rights.

AGRITRANS S.A. note :

"AGRITRANS S.A. informs the public in general, its friendly national and international customers in particular and the many beneficiaries of its social actions, that as of May 31, 2019, it has read, through the website of the Superior Court of Accounts and Administrative Disputes (CSC/CA) of an audit report on the management of PetroCaribe funds.

Unexpectedly, this audit process was carried out without notice, interview or consultation of our books and archives, contrary to the requirements of the International Standards for Auditing. We also deplore the fact that no technical evaluation report by the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications (MTPTC) has been produced in support of the CSC/CA's findings on AGRITRANS S.A. This raises serious doubts. as to the objectivity of these conclusions.

In addition, we note that the companies AGRITRANS S.A. and BETEXS are two separate entities, each having their own legal personality, with their separate tax references [Note HL : contrary to the assertion of the CSC/CA] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27897-haiti-flash-presidency-describes-as-political-machination-the-csc-ca-petrocaribe-report.html

We also disagree with the allegations that AGRITRANS S.A. and BETEX received two payments to perform the same work. It should be noted that AGRITRANS signed a contract with the MTPTC [Ministry of Public Works] on a separate segment of the Borgne/Petit-Bourg de Borgne road section. Remember that this contract has been duly approved by the CSC/CA and that the relative payments are around 40% to date for 80% of executed works.

Based on these considerations, among many others, AGRITRANS S.A. expresses its formal disagreement on the allegations of the CSC/CA and reserves the right to initiate proceedings before the Haitian justice to defend its integrity and rights.
