Haiti - Security : Minister Cadet condemns attacks on schools and students
Pierre Josué Agénor Cadet, Minister of National Education expresses his deepest concern about the deleterious climate in the streets affecting the running of schools for several days.

The Minister Cadet denounces and condemns certain targeted attacks recorded in several regions of the country against schools, notably in Jacmel https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28851-haiti-flash-attempts-of-fires-and-spill-of-excrement-in-schools.html in Gonaïves, in Petit-Goâve https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-28800-icihaiti-petit-goave-radical-opposition-sows-panic-among-students.html in Les Cayes and Port-au-Prince.

While recognizing that everyone has the right to express their demands, he recalls that every child also has the right to go to school and that he is "the responsibility of every actor and every partner to commit to the protection of the right to education [...] and that it is the duty of every citizen to protect schools, teachers and pupils in all circumstances."

Cadet stresses "we can not want to change the future of the country by attacking the mainstay of the training of our young, future citizens called to take over. This different Haiti of which we all dream, will not be possible without education and it is a criminal act to attack defenseless schoolchildren in the streets [...] "

He reiterates his call to the forces of the country, to all actors, partners and educational agents, so that the school and our students are protected in all circumstances.
