Haiti - FLASH : The opposition tries to put pressure on the UN and the international
On Friday tens of thousands of people took the streets responding to the opposition's call, shouting hostile slogans and waving placards, demanding the unconditional resignation of President Moïse and against international interference (Core Group) for its repeated calls for the resolution of the crisis, through dialogue...

Thousands of people have also demonstrated in provincial cities including Cap-Haitien (North), Miragoâne, (Nippes), Gonaïves, Saint-Marc (Artibonite) and Mirebalais (Center), where economic activities and traffic were paralyzed by barricades of burning tires and protesters,

Just like during the mobilization of September 27th, https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28865-haiti-flash-insurrectional-situation-in-haiti-province.html
https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-28863-haiti-flash-insurrectional-situation-in-haiti-metropolitan-area.html this day has not escaped the acts of violence and vandalism in the capital and other major cities of the country. Violent clashes took place between protesters and police, throwing rocks and bottles against tear gas, rubber bullets, water cannon and air firing. Schools and most businesses and public institutions have kept their doors closed...

The presence of several international journalists has been seen in the field.

Equipped with bullet-proof vests, shields and water cannons, units of the Haitian National Police (PNH), of Units of the Intervention and Maintenance Corps (CIMO) were in a position near roadblocks with their vehicles at various strategic points. In Lalue, a group of protesters torched the entrance to the immigration and emigration directorate, while another protest in the Delmas neighborhood clashed with the forces of order. At least one person was shot dead in Cap-Haïtien, while demonstrators were wounded in Jeremie. No balance sheet has been released on Friday.

The main event targeted the headquarters of the United Nations Mission of Support for Justice in Haiti (Minujusth) in Clercine (Tabarre commune) near the airport.

Swat Teams (SWAT), the Departmental Maintenance Unit (UDMO) and CIMO had deployed a massive security device to prevent protesters from reaching UN offices in Haiti.

Throughout the road, highly motivated protesters from various neighborhoods burned tires and threw stones and bottles and at least two Molotov cocktails towards the police. Who responded with water cannons, tear gas canisters and rubber bullets. Several leaders of the opposition or sympathizers were present among others Évalière Beauplan, Nenel Cassis, Pierre Ricard, Sorel Jacinthe, Joseph Manes Louis, Simon Desras Godseul, André Michel, Assad Volcy, the mayors Ralph Youri Chevry (Port-au-Prince) and Rony Colin (Croix-des-Bouquets) went to the headquarters of the UN mission to send an oral and written message.

Visibly overwhelmed by the crowd, the police finally let the protesters go to the UN base, under strong supervision which avoided any overflow.

Senator Radical opposition leader Evalière Beauplan recalled that a letter had been sent on Wednesday to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, calling on the international community to withdraw political support for President Moïse "They have 24 hours to decide the fate of Jovenel Moïse. No diplomatic mission can tell us what to do. We do not recognize diplomats who request negotiations. The time has passed. [...]" A letter to the UN that dramatically describes a situation of civil war, seen by the eyes of the radical opposition who wrote "[...] durig various street demonstrations to demand his resignation Jovenel Moïse ordered a systematic crackdown on peaceful citizens who only peacefully defend their inalienable rights. There are more than 100 demonstrators who were murdered, thousands injured and crippled, and some arrested illegally. The country has been totally dysfunctional for weeks, the doors of public and private companies, commercial banks, schools, among others, have remained closed. Haitians are clamoring for the resignation of President Jovenel Moïse [...]

From all the foregoing, we solicit, in your capacity as Secretary General of the United Nations, your dissociation from Jovenel Moïse by giving all your support to the Haitian people who swear by the resignation of the President [...]"
