Monday at 4:53 pm and 4 seconds, an earthquake with an intensity of 3.2 on the Richter scale was recorded near Marigot (South-East).
The epicenter was located at 18.258 latitude and -72.223 longitude, at a depth of 12 kilometers, 10 km northeast of Marigot, 33 km southeast of Jacmel and 33 km southeast of Port-au-Prince.
Note that Haiti is located in the middle of a vast system of geological faults resulting from the movement of tectonic plates of the Caribbean and North America, which explains the frequent seismic shocks in the country.
