It recalls that "the principle of freedom of contract, recognized in Haitian law, gives the parties the right to freely determine the content of contracts binding them. This principle also authorizes the parties to agree beforehand on the legal methods of resolving any possible conflict relating to the said contracts." AmCham - Haiti, without pronouncing on the substance of the dispute, invites all the parties to respect the legal provisions in this matter, in particular the respect of the Conventions which remain essential for the security of the investments. Laurent Saint-Cyr wishes to remind the actors concerned of the paramount importance of a fair and impartial environment in terms of conflict resolution and reiterates its commitment to strengthening the rule of law in which the force of law triumphs.
