During his tour in the department of Nord-Est https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29799-haiti-politic-president-moise-on-tour-in-the-north-of-the-country.html President Jovenel Moïse inaugurated a section of road 17.5 km long and 14 m wide, connecting the commune of Vallières to that of Mombin Crochu.

Started in February 2019, the works were carried out by a consortium comprising the Ministry of Defense (Military engineering and heavy machinery) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance via the Office for Monetization of Development Aid Programs (BMPAD) (for Fuel and workers' accommodation)

The inhabitants of the Northeast in general and those of Mombin Crochu and Vallières in particular, are delighted with this route because it took before 3 hours and cross almost all the localities, connecting the North to the Northeast such as : Victoire, Pignon, Saint Raphaël, Dondon, Carrefour Ménard, Barrières Battant, Carrefour Lamort, Quartier Morin, Limonade, Trou-du-Nord, Carrefour Jésus, Terrier Rouge, Grand Bassin, les Perches, Acul Samedi and Morne Madeleine before arriving at destination . Today, 32 minutes are enough to complete this same path.

Made up of 13 communes and 36 communal sections, the Northeast remains one of the most landlocked departments in the country due to the catastrophic state of its roads.
