Haiti - Social : Haitians multiply the stratagems to enter clandestinely in DR

Haitians use all kinds of stratagems to try to enter Dominican territory by trying to thwart border surveillance authorities said a representative of the Corps specialized in the security of land borders (Cesfront) "We have detected Haitian traffic in different vehicles, including ambulances and tankers dedicated to the sale of water [...] lately at least 20 illegal Haitians have been discovered while they were hidden in a truck loaded with live chicken cages."

Recently, migration inspectors arrested at a military checkpoint in the Laurel sector, 3 km from Dajabón, a Dominican driver (Jhonny Castillo Lemoren), a corrupt employee of the Haitian Consulate in Dajabón, who was carrying 4 undocumented Haitian illegal immigrants in a Land Cruser Prado vehicle, with diplomatic plate, D00922 used without authorization from the consular authorities.

Major General Estanislao Gonell Regalado traveled to Dajabón province and met with military and civilian authorities who are concerned about the influx of Haitians, to decide on more specific actions to counter these attempts.

It should be noted that most of these attempts fail. According to military authorities since the beginning of January, more than 6,000 Haitians (30% more than in 2019) have been turned back at the borders for attempting to enter Dominican territory illegally.

Despite these failures and the importance of these figures, this does not discourage our compatriots, some of whom do not hesitate once back home, to make one or more new attempts...
