Haiti - FLASH: 5 police officers dismissed for indiscipline, attack on the honor of the PNH and acts of vandalism

Following the regrettable excesses that occurred Monday, February 17, during the police demonstration in Pétion-ville and on the Champ-de-Mars where Molotov cocktails were launched on several stands intended for the festivities of the National Carnival 2020, as announced in the declaration of the Prime Minister Lapin https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30060-haiti-politic-incidents-of-champ-de-mars-declaration-of-the-prime-minister-ai-lapin.html the sanctions have started falling on the police offciers.

This is the dismissal of 5 police officers: three Agents II: Yanick Joseph, leader who advocated a union within the PNH, belson Gros-Nègre and Gédéon Mombrun, an Agent I Yens Lamarre and an inspector Jean Elder Monday.

Rameau Normil explained "The National Police is governed by the internal regulations. According to the provisions of the latter, any behavior which undermines the honor of the institution is subject to an investigation by the General Inspectorate, which, afterwards, will make recommendations to the Director General. In this specific case, we have made arrangements to approve the IGPNH recommendations. The revocations are confirmed" stating "These police officers are not dismissed because they demanded a union, they have the right to demand better working conditions.
