GLOBAL SITUATION :
Friday, March 27, 2020, the number of people infected worldwide by the coronavirus Covid-19 since the beginning of the epidemic amount to 537,808 (laboratory confirmed cases, official sources) an increase of 65,018 cases (+ 13.75%) compared to the previous day: https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30371-haiti-covid-19-daily-bulletin-march-26-2020.html

Since the start of the epidemic, 123,312 people have been cured of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 7.3%), or 8,401 more than yesterday.

HAITI :
Telephone number for Covid-19 :
The Ministry of Public Health has put into service a short number for the Coronavirus Covid-19. You can call 2020 free of charge if you need information, or 116 if you think you have symptoms of the disease.

Repatriation of American citizens :
Between March 23 and 25, the American Embassy in Haiti assisted in the repatriation of 1,030 American citizens to the United States.

UNITED STATES:
Epidemiological situation :
New York City: 22,747 active cases (+ 15.29%) or 3,016 more cases and 365 deaths (+ 30.3%) or 85 more deaths since yesterday.
Miami Dade (FL): 654 active cases (+ 33.2%) or 163 more cases since yesterday

QUEBEC :
Epidemiological situation :
1,629 confirmed cases (+ 22.2%) 296 more in 24 hours as well as 2 new deaths for a total of 8 (+ 33.3%). Hospitalizations and the number of intensive care patients are also increasing. Of the 1,629 confirmed cases in Quebec, Montreal where the largest Haitian community is located (nearly 200,000 people), is the epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic in Quebec with 782 cases (+29.6 %) or 179 cases more than yesterday.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC :
Number of hours of curfew increased :
President Danilo Medina has extended, by decree (138-20), the curfew hours throughout the national territory from this Friday, March 27, until Friday, April 3. The new curfew goes from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. instead of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Epidemiological situation :
Thursday, March 26, the Minister of Public Health, Rafael Sánchez Cárdenas, announced that the number of active cases of Covid-19 in the Dominican Republic was now 476 or 96 more the day before. He said that only 10 out of 32 provinces are not contaminated and that the most affected areas were: the National District (235 cases), Santiago (57), Santo Domingo (57) and Duarte (43) represent 80% of all confirmed cases. Of the 476 confirmed cases, 109 are in hospital isolation (unchanged), 367 in home isolation (+ 34.4%) or 94 more since the day before. 425 people are under investigation and followed for a history of travel to countries infected with Covid-10 or who have been in contact with people who tested positive.

FRANCE :
Epidemiological situation :
Thursday evening, Jérôme Salomon the Director General of Health said that France had registered 365 more deaths than the day before. 3,375 patients are in intensive care (+548 compared to the previous day) out of a total of 13,904 hospitalized patients, i.e. more than 2,365 in 24 hours.

Government authorizes treatment with hydroxychloroquine :

BAHAMAS :
In the Bahamas, where nearly 80,000 Haitians live (according to the International Organization for Migration), more than 60% of whom are in an irregular migration situation, our compatriots are subject to 24-hour confinement and must stay at home since March 24 and until March 31, 2020.

Tips :
Basic advice protect yourself and avoid the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible, in case of introduction in Haiti :

Always cough or sneeze into your sleeves or elbow, never on the other person's face or in your hands;
Use tissues to wipe your hands or face and then throw them in the trash and then wash your hands;
Wash your hands frequently with soap or alcoholic water. You can also use a "sanitizer";
Avoid close contact with someone with flu-like illness and invite them to seek treatment;
Avoid contact with vulnerable people if you are sick;
Avoid greetings like handshakes and kisses;
Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth;
