GLOBAL SITUATION :

Since the start of the pandemic, 301,649 people have been cured of Covid-19 worldwide (+ 5.7%), 16,322 more than yesterday (20,888).

Since the start of the pandemic 82,195 people have died from Covid-19 worldwide (+ 9.8%), which is 7,339 more than yesterday (5,301).

The number of people infected worldwide (excluding death and recovery) is currently 1,048,733 (+ 5.9%), 58,393 more than yesterday (46,372).

HAITI :
25th confirmed case of Covid-19 :
Tuesday the Ministry of Public Health informed that a 25th case of Covid-19 coronavirus, had been confirmed by the national laboratory since the beginning of the epidemic in Haiti.

The US expels 68 Haitians in the middle of a pandemic :
Chancellor Claude Joseph on Tuesday confirmed that the United States deported 68 Haitians on a Swift Air flight from Louisiana to Port-au-Prince "I confirm this new deportation of Haitians who were in an irregular situation in the USA . The number could have been higher if there had been no negotiations between the authorities of the two countries [...] The Haitian State despite the meager means will welcome his sons with dignity [...] ”

Towards an increase in the number of tests :
Efforts are underway to increase the number of tests and the capacity of laboratories. In addition to the 1,500 Covid-19 tests distributed by PAHO / WHO to the National Public Health Laboratory (LNSP) last March, 5,000 test kits are being ordered, which will allow testing 3,000 to 4,000 suspected cases additional. The LNSP has also requested 10,000 cartridges for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests which will be used by the laboratories of the "Gen X" network, present in the 10 departments.

New York City: 72,867 active cases (+ 6.07%) or 4,171 more than the day before (4,193) and 4,009 deaths (+ 15.0%) or 524 more than the day before (437).

Miami Dade (FL): 5,079 active cases (+ 9.7%) or 449 more than the day before (4,630) and 47 deaths (+ 14.63%) or 6 more than the day before (41).

New York State since the start of the epidemic: 140,386 cases (+ 6.49%), 8,556 more than the day before (8,670) and 5,489 deaths (+ 15.36%), or 732 more than the day before (599).

African-Americans die more from Covid-19 ? :
Although at the moment there is a lack of studies of national dimension, it seems because of the socio-economic inequalities, in the poor and black districts have less doctors, poorer hospitals and lower medical cover, African-Americans represent a higher death rate than the proportion of the population in which they live.

According to available statistics, for example, in Illinois, the black population represents 14% of the population but 42% of deaths. In Chicago, the black population is less than 33% but accounts for 72% of the dead. In Washington D.C., 13 of the 22 dead are black. In North Carolina, 31% of the dead are black, compared to 22% of the population. In Louisiana, 33% of the population is black but represents 70% of the dead...

Another aspect likely to be considered is the greater predisposition among black people to have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and lung disease, all of which medical factors increase the risk of complications from Covid-19. Chinese and European studies…

QUEBEC:
Epidemiological situation:
9,340 cases since the start of the pandemic (+ 10.4%), or 881 more than the day before (515) and 150 deaths (+ 23.9%), or 29 more than the day before (121).

583 cases hospitalized (+ 9.38%) in 24 hours or 8 more in 24 hours including 164 (unchanged) in intensive care.

In Montreal, epicenter of the pandemic in Quebec, where the largest Haitian community is located (nearly 200,000 members): 4,407 active cases (+ 10.8%), 430 more than the previous day (264) and 47.18% of all cases of Province.

TOP 5 of the most contaminated boroughs in Montreal:
Côte-des-Neiges – Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (428 cases + 11.46%), Côte-Saint-Luc (232 + 12.08%), LaSalle (237 + 8.22%), Rosemont – La Petite Patrie (217 +11.86 %) and Ahuntsic-Cartierville (200 + 13.6%)

TOP 5 of the most contaminated regions of Quebec:
Montreal (4.407 cases + 10.8%), Montérégie (961 + 7.49%), Laval (759 + 16.6%), Estrie (570 + 4.0%) and Mauricie-et-Center-du-Québec (589 + 7.29%).

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC:
Epidemiological situation:
1,822 active cases (+ 6.61%), ie 113 more than the previous day (63). 98 people died since March 1 (+ 13.9%), 12 more than the day before (86)

4 provinces represent 72.4% of all deaths: Duarte (34), National District (15) Santo Domingo (14), Santiago (8).

Healing: 36 (+ 9.0%) or 3 more than the day before (33).

Provinces with the highest number of confirmed cases (community transmission): National District (37%), Santo-Domingo (16%), Santiago (12%) and Duarte (7%) and La Vega (6%).

FRANCE:
Epidemiological situation:

30,000 people hospitalized (+ 4.36%) or 1,253 more than the day before (975) including 7,131 in intensive care (+ 2.0%) or 143 more than the day before (6,968).

Healings: 19.523 (+ 12.01%) or 2.094 more than the day before (1.075)

Since the start of the epidemic, a total of 10,343 people have died from Covid-19 (+ 16.0%) including 3,237 deaths (+ 33.9%) in accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people and medical-social centers (i.e. 820 deaths more) for a total of 1,432 more deaths than yesterday (818).

Overseas: 974 confirmed cases (+ 0.1%) or 1 case more than the previous day and 15 deaths (unchanged)

SYMPTOMS :
Common symptoms of Covid-19 coronavirus: cough, fever and extreme fatigue. Some people may also have more severe symptoms, such as difficulty breathing or pneumonia. On average, symptoms of COVID-19 usually develop 5 to 7 days after infection. In some infrequent cases, they may appear only on the 12th day.

Tips :
Basic advice protect yourself and avoid the spread of Covid-19 as much as possible, in case of introduction in Haiti :

  • Always cough or sneeze into your sleeves or elbow, never on the other person's face or in your hands;
  • Use tissues to wipe your hands or face and then throw them in the trash and then wash your hands;
  • Wash your hands frequently with soap or alcoholic water. You can also use a "sanitizer";
  • Avoid close contact with someone with flu-like illness and invite them to seek treatment;
  • Avoid contact with vulnerable people if you are sick;
  • Avoid greetings like handshakes and kisses;
  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth;
  • Avoid large gatherings as much as possible;
