Haiti - Politic : Rumours around the name of the next Prime Minister-designate...
The presidential team, formed by the Head of State, following the rejection of Daniel Gérard Rouzier, met yesterday at the National Palace with Sorel Jacinthe, the President of the Chamber of Deputies and Jean Alexis Tolbert, the President of the Parliamentary Group for Renewal (GPR) which has the majority in the lower house. This meeting aimed to identify not only a parliamentary majority, but also to agree on the composition of the government and obtain the support on the general policy of the new government team.

"We must also overcomes the obstacles so that Thursday at the latest an agreement is found" declared Sorel Jacinthe, adding that so far no name on the future Prime Minister had been quoted in the discussions.

Meanwhile, the name of the next candidate for Prime Minister's Office, the rumors are multiplying.

The name of Jean-Max Bellerive, outgoing Prime Minister, appointed by the Head of State, last week, to implement certain projects of his program, is cited as a possible candidate. An embarrassing choice for the camp Martelly, which would then be forced to take the path of the continuity [revised and updated] rather than change, advocated during the Presidential campaign.

Although Jean Max Bellerive refuses to comment on this subject, some do not hesitate to say that because of the family links with the Head of State, he is the candidate in the better position, especially since he has the support of former President Clinton and a favorable support of GPR [composed of a majority of parliamentarians from the platform INITE]

However, the possible renewal of the Prime Minister of former President Préval does not make the unanimous.

The Senator Jean William Jeanty [Nippes], believes that the reappointment of Mr Bellerive would be a bonus to the failure and to the mismanagement "All the negative balance that we have of the team Préval, M. Bellerive was then Prime Minister, he was the Head of Government, this means that the elections failed [...] the IHRC who has never reached and that no one knows where it will end [...] all the disorder there was after the election, it is in the balance of Mr. Bellerive... So now if we decide to renew him, it's like giving him a reward for his failures"

For Senator Steven Benoît, it is clear that the Head of State can always designate Jean Max Bellerive as a potential Prime Minister, if he wishes, however, Mr. Bellerive will have to give in a first time some explanations on the use of the hundreds of millions of dollars spent under his administration, no one knows exactly to what they were used. "we asked his convocation before his departure or or that it is reappointed, [...] that he comes here to give us two things: the outcome of PetroCaribe, the final balance of 197 million, 167 million and 108 million. Within the 108 million, there are 17 projects that have been done. I would like to know these projects, in which communes and which departments. In addition, for the 163 million who came after January 12, I would like to know what they have finally solved [...]"

The name of the political advisor of Michel Martelly, the sociologist Daniel Supplice, also appears to be on the list, although other rumors, say that he could be Minister of Foreign Affairs. The sociologist is a heavyweight of the team Martelly and he would retain all his chances to become the next Prime Minister-designate. However, since the accession of Michel Martelly, Daniel Supplice would face to some opposition from close relations of the President.
