Haiti - UN : Helen La Lime declared that it is Claude Joseph would lead Haiti
On Thursday, Helen La Lime, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Integrated Office in Haiti (BINUH) told reporters in New York after a closed meeting of the United Nations Security Council convened urgently [in videoconference] faced the crisis in Haiti that Prime Minister ai Claude Joseph would lead Haiti until the elections are held [and the election of a new President], urging all parties to put aside their differences after the assassination of President Jovenel Moise.

She pointed out that the death of President Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34183-haiti-flash-the-commando-that-killed-the-president-included-26-colombians-and-2-haitian-americans-official-video.html generated confusion as to know who is the legitimate ruler of the country and declared, after informing the Security Council, that Joseph was the responsible ruler, citing the amended Constitution of Haiti of 1987 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34165-haiti-assassination-of-jovenel-moise-what-says-the-constitution.html adding : "There are certainly tensions. There are certainly people on all sides of this issue who have different interpretations, which is why it is important to have a dialogue."

Speaking virtually to reporters in New York City, La Lime said Joseph had told him the day before that he intended to stick to the planned plan of holding a first round of legislative and presidential elections on September 26 with a second round in November https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34095-haiti-flash-new-calendar-referendum-and-elections-official.html

"Stakeholders must put aside their differences and draw a common path to move forward and overcome this difficult time peacefully."
