Friday July 16, Pradel Henriquez the Minister of Communication, accopanied of the Prime Minister ai, Claude Joseph and the Departmental Delegate of the North Pierrot Augustin, announced at a press conference at the residence of the Prime Minister, that according to the wishes of the family of the late President and according to the decree of March 11, 2020, the national funeral of President Jovenel Moïse, assassinated on July 7, will take place in Cap-Haïtien on July 23.

"On July 20, the Government will organize a day of tribute to the President of the Republic. It will be organized by the protocol of the National Palace at the Museum of the Haitian National Pantheon (MUPANAH).

The funeral wake will be organized on July 22 and the funeral sung on July 23 in Cap-Haitien [at the request of the President's family."

The exact times and places of the ceremonies will be detailed in a decree to be published shortly, added Minister Henriquez.

Martine Joseph Moïse should be back home, to take part in the funeral of her late husband, said Prime Minister a.i. Claude Joseph.
