Haiti closes its northern border

Haitian authorities have informed their Dominican counterparts that the border in the northern part will remain closed Thursday July 22 and Friday July 23, 2021 due to the national funeral of President Jovenel Moise, which will take place on Friday July 23 in Cap Haitien. There will therefore be no binational market but, as of Saturday, trade will resume normally between Haitians and Dominicans.
